Overview The meeting introduced a third-party certification for Essential Energy’s GeoField conditioners and discussed dirty electricity, power quality, and the Sign Tamer. Key Discussion Dan announced that Global Green’s Healthy People, Healthy Planet program certified the GeoField Elite and GeoField Pro conditioners. Terry explained that power-quality problems are generally generated inside buildings by equipment such as LED lighting, variable-speed drives, and electronic devices, rather than entering directly from the utility. The discussion distinguished line-voltage power cleaning from higher-frequency noise associated with devices such as smart meters. Conclusions The Sign Tamer is installed at the electrical panel and addresses power, neutral, and ground conductors; apartment or condominium installations generally protect only the connected unit unless a building-wide cascade is designed. Bedroom shutoff switches do not address noise remaining on the neutral conductor. Dan has an electrician in the Spokane area for installation. Outline Certification Announcement Dan announced Global Green certification for the GeoField Elite and GeoField Pro conditioners under the Healthy People, Healthy Planet program. The certification may support expansion into hotels, resorts, clinics, and other facilities. Dirty Electricity Dan framed EMF exposure as occurring in the air, on the wire, and in the ground, with the session focused on dirty electricity on the wire. Terry described dirty electricity as a term often used for higher-frequency noise, while emphasizing the separate role of line-voltage power quality. Power Quality Power-quality disturbances discussed included voltage fluctuations, transients, harmonics, imbalances, and neutral-conductor noise. Sources inside buildings included LED lighting, smart meters, control systems, motors, and other electronic equipment. The Sign Tamer was described as monitoring the frequency waveform and suppressing unwanted energy across power, neutral, and ground connections. Installation And Use A single-phase residential unit should be installed at the electrical panel by an electrician; three-phase systems require a different device. Outdoor installation is possible with watertight fittings and a light bead of silicone around the top cover. In multi-unit buildings, protection may require installation at the main panel and additional panels or floors.
